The Dolomite is a fictional vehicle featured in the Aliens multimedia franchise. It appeared in the Aliens: Hive limited series published by Dark Horse Comics and was introduced in Aliens: Hive #1 in February, 1992.
Description[]
The Dolomite was a transport vessel capable of interplanetary travel. It was utilized for scientific research missions and was captained by a man named Hoban. Hoban's second-in-command was a synthetic humanoid named Gill.
History[]
At the behest of scientist Stanislaw Mayakovsky, Captain Hoban piloted the Dolomite to a planetoid called A6 454, which had been previously established as being inhabited by Xenomorph hives. The crew took a dropship down to the planet's surface, where Mayakovsky had hoped to located a Xenomorph queen in order to acquire its highly valuable Royal Jelly. [1]
