"The Pandorica Opens" is the twelfth episode of series five of the 2005 relaunch series of the British sci-fi television series Doctor Who. It is the 67th episode of the series in total and the 762nd episode of all Doctor Who episodes combined. It was directed by Toby Haynes and written by Steven Moffat and premiered on Saturday, June 19th, 2010 on BBC-1. In this episode, the Doctor is called back to the 2nd century where receives a warning from River Song (assuming the guise of Cleopatra) and his companions about the legendary Pandorica - a mythical box buried beneath Stonehenge rumored to contain the most dangerous creature in the universe.

- Viewed by 7.57 million viewers, making it the fourth most-watched episode of the week on BBC One. It was the 9th most-watched episode on all BBC networks for that week. [2]
- According to executive producer Steven Moffat, the Cybermen featured in this episode are the Mondas/Telos Cybermen, which have not been seen since 1988. The Cybus logo on their chests are only there as there was no budget to redo the Cyberman costumes. [3]
- When Vincent Van Gogh is shown, his left ear is intact. But by 1890, he had cut off the lower lobe.
