"Planet of the Spiders" is a six-part storyline that appeared in episodes 376-381 of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. It is the seventy-fourth serial in the series. It aired on BBC One from May 4th, 1974 to June 8th, 1974. The storyline featured Jon Pertwee in the role of the Third Doctor and also stars Elisabeth Sladen as his companion Sarah Jane Smith and Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. The story was directed by Barry Letts with a script written by Robert Sloman. It is notable for being the final storyline featuring Jon Pertwee.

- This is the final appearance of Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor in a standard appearance. He regenerates into the Fourth Doctor in this episode.
- This is the first appearance of actor Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, who goes on to become one of the more popular versions of the Doctor on the series.
- This is the first time that the phrase "regeneration" is used in reference to a Time Lord going through a physical transformation from one form to another.
