"Boom Town" is the eleventh episode of series one of the 2005 relaunch of the British sci-fi series Doctor Who. Combining all episode totals together, "Boom Town" is the 706th episode of Doctor Who. It was directed by Joe Ahearne and written by Russell T. Davies. It first aired in the US on Syfy and BBC America on June 4th, 2006. In this episode, the Slitheen alien Blon Fel-Fotch, assuming the form of Cardiff mayor Margaret Blaine announces the opening of a massive nuclear power plant right in the middle of the city. The Doctor, Rose Tyler and Jack Harkness (with Mickey in tow) feret out her identity and manage to capture her. Margaret begs them not to return her to her homeworld, for she will be executed. She desperately attempts to appeal to the Doctor's compassion, but secretly she intends on killing him and escaping.
