"Attack of the Cybermen (Part 1)" is the first episode of season twenty-two of the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and the 627th episode of the series overall. It was directed by Matthew Robinson and written by Paula Moore and Ian Levine. It first aired on Saturday, January 5th, 1985. In this episode, the Cybermen plan on destroying Earth in order to prevent the destruction of their home world, Mondas. The Doctor also discovers the Cyber Controller is far from dead.
