"That Was Then... This is NOW" is the title to the first story in the ninth issue of the Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics. The story was written by Roy & Dann Thomas with artwork and inks by Jackson Guice. Guice also rendered the cover art illustration to this issue. It was colored by Christie Scheele and lettered by Janice Chiang. The second story in this issue is taken from the Book of the Vishanti and is chapter one in "The Curse of the Darkhold" storyline, subtitled as "The Montessi Formula". It was written by Roy Thomas and Jean-Marc & Randy Lofficier with artwork by David Day and inks by brother Dan Day. It was colored by Christie Scheele and lettered by Joe Rosen. Both stories were edited by Ralph Macchio with Mike Rockwitz as assistant editor. This issue shipped with a November, 1989 cover date and carries a cover price of $1.50 per copy (US).
