Notes & Trivia[]

  • At the time of publication, all vampires on Earth were simultaneously destroyed. However, later stories reversed the effects of the Montesi Formula, enabling some like Dracula and Lilith Drake to return.
  • Because Hannibal King never drank human blood, he was able to temporarily stave off the effects of the Montesi Formula. A blood transfusion, performed by Stephen Strange, enables him to survive.
  • The effects of the Montesi Formula will eventually be weakened and reversed in Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #14.
  • The Darkholders appear in flashback only in this issue.
