"Atomic Nightmares"[]
Part I[]
Nuro and Orun have Doctor Solar strapped to a chair in their underground laboratory and are aggressively siphoning off his radioactive energy to power their facility. To counteract this, Solar strives to increase his internalized power so that it reaches a critical point in the hopes that he might be able to break free. Nuro sends a power surge of 10,000 watts into Solar's body, which causes him to slump in exhaustion.
Solar becomes aware of an electrical storm taking place in the skies above the lab. He begins drawing power from it until he is strong enough to break free. Solar rockets through the lab's silo into the sky, triggering a thunderhead that produces an immense energy burst.
Gail and Doctor Clarkson are in an airplane and come too close to the electrical discharge. The flash temporarily blinds the pilot Freddie, and Solar is forced to help the plane come to a landing.
Part II[]
They settle back down and return to Atom Valley. Solar tries to get some much needed rest, but is plagued by bizarre nightmares. His radioactive powers begin externalizing his subconscious, creating radioactive beings of mental energy. The mental light monster attacks a construction site in nearby Central City. It then strikes a population center with blinding brilliance. Doctor Clarkson comes up with the idea of using sulfur particles to disperse the entity.
Doctor Clarkson and Gail then bring Solar to the medical center for observation. Shortly before midnight however, the slumbering Solar conjures up another nightmare creature from the depths of his mind. This creature is electromagnetic in nature and grows to immense size and begins attacking vehicles. As Solar awakens, Doctor Clarkson alerts him to the new threat.
