Doctor Cranum is a fictional mad scientist and super-villain featured in the Super Friends family of animated cartoon projects, which are based on characters and concepts seen in comic books published by DC Comics. He first appeared in the "The Brain Machine" episode of the All-New Super Friends Hour.

Biography[]

Doctor Cranum was a scientist who operated out of a basement laboratory with his assistant Doctor Scott on the outskirts of Gotham City. They developed a device called a brain machine, which would increase the intellectual capacity of any human life form. Doctor Cranum tested the device upon himself, despite Doctor Scott's protests, and became a super-genius. The brain machine also caused physical abnormalities as well as giving him the powers of telekinesis, molecular immobilization, and remote viewing.

Doctor Cranum's plan was to use the machine to enhance the intellect of everyone in Metropolis, turning them all into super-geniuses, which would also result in them undergoing the same physical deformities that affected Doctor Cranum. To accomplish this, he first broke into the Metropolis Institute of Technology to steal an antenna array, which he would use to broadcast the brain machine's energy signal across the city.

After stealing the antenna, he then went to the highest elevation level in the city, which was at the Metro World Amusement Park. The Super Friends caught wind of Doctor Cranum's plan, and Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman went out to stop him.

Cranum got the drop on Wonder Woman, and used his device to turn her into a super-smart follower. Batman tried to get a vantage point atop a roller coaster, but Cranum used his telekinesis to derail the car. Batman followed him into a hall of mirrors and succeeded in capturing him. They used the brain machine to reverse its effects, turning Cranum and Wonder Woman back to normal.
