Djimon Gaston Hounsou is an African film and television actor. He was born in Cotonou, Benin on April 24th, 1964. Djimon's first work in the science fiction genre was playing a Horus Guard under Ra in the 1994 film Stargate. He was credited only as Djimon in the film. In 2005 he played Doctor Albert Laurent in the Michael Bay action film The Island. He received third billing in the film after stars Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson.
