Black Canary is a fictional super-hero whose real name is Dinah Lance. She appeared in the CW Network television series Smallville where she was played by actress Alaina Huffman. She was introduced the eleventh episode of season seven titled "Siren' and made six appearances in the series in total.

- Sonic projection: Black Canary can emit waves of sonic vibration from her mouth, which she refers to as her "canary cry". These waves of force are strong enough to buffet back opponents and shatter small inanimate objects.

- The character of Dinah Lance was created by director Kevin G. Fair and writers Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson.
- Dinah Lance is based on the DC Comics character Dinah Laurel Lance who made her first appearance in Justice League of America #75 in November, 1969. The character was created by writer Denny O'Neil and artists Dick Dillin and Joe Giella.
