Richard "Dick" Rory is a fictional soldier and a minor character featured in the DC Television Universe. Played by actor Evan Jones, he appeared in the seventh episode of season three of Legends of Tomorrow titled "Welcome to the Jungle".
Biography[]
Dick Rory was an American soldier in the United States Army and was a Green Beret. He served during the Vietnam War and was active in Khe Sanh in the year 1967. A chronal anomaly took place which inserted the 21st century telepathic mutant gorilla known as Grodd into this timeline. Grodd used his mental powers to unite American soldiers with members of the North Vietnamese Army. The anomaly attracted the attention of the Legends, whose membership included Dick's future son, Mick Rory.
Mick met his father, whom he despised and was also culpable in his death, but did not let on that he was his son from a future timeline. Under Nate Heywood's guidance, Mick used his time with Dick to sort out his various "daddy issues".
