Notes & Trivia[]
- Batman was created by comic book writer Bill Finger and graphic artist Bob Kane. He first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May, 1939.
- This is the first appearance of J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter. In many ways, this issue marks the beginning of the Silver Age era of comics. Although most comic historians credit the beginning of the Silver Age with the introduction of Barry Allen as the Flash in Showcase #4, this issue actually pre-dates the Flash's introduction by little more than a year.
- Using the above notations as a database standard, this issue also marks the first appearance of the Silver Age versions of Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth and Commissioner Gordon.
