Dennis Bridger was a character featured in the first three episode of the short-lived 1961 television series A for Andromeda. Originally played by British actor Frank Windsor, the character was re-imagined for the 1972 re-make series A come Andromeda where he was played by Mario Piave. The character was updated a third time in 2006 for the A for Andromeda television movie, this time played by Charlie Cox.
Biography[]
Dennis Bridger was a member of the scientific research team stationed at Bouldershaw Fell in Yorkshire. He assisted noted astronomers Doctors John Fleming and Ernest Reinhart in the discovery of a radio signal originating from deep within the Andromeda Galaxy. When the team discovered that the signal carried designs for the construction of a highly advanced supercomputer, Bridger relocated along with the rest of the team to a military laboratory in Thorness, Scotland. Bridger did not share the same altruistic motives as his colleagues however. In truth, he was acting as a spy for a man named Kaufmann of the Intel Corporation. Bridger fed Kaufmann military secrets and copious amounts of information relating to the supercomputer. The Ministry of Defence eventually learned about Bridger's treachery and he was confronted by Agent Judy Adamson. Bridger fled from Ministry soldiers, but unfortunately for him, lost his life when he fell from the peak of a high cliff.
