The demon tablet is a fictional item featured in the CW Network television series Supernatural. This was a stone table that was also known as the "Word of God". Though there have been at least two such tablets, this particular one was coveted by the King of Hell known as Crowley. Upon acquiring the tablet, Crowley required someone who could decipher it. He abducted a prophet named Kevin Tran and forced him to transcribe the carvings. Kevin determined that the tablet provided instructions on how to open a Hell Gate. Crowley also learned that by activating such a gate, he could bring all the demons of Hell onto Earth. Conversely, Kevin Tran realized that there was a counter-spell, which could actually send all Earth-bound demons back to Hell - permanently. This now became a highly coveted artifact for Kevin's demon-hunting allies, Sam and Dean Winchester. (Supernatural: We Need to Talk About Kevin)
