The Demon Bear is an evil spirit and a recurring antagonist featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It relates to the character of Danielle Moonstar and first appeared as a manifestation of Danielle's illusion generating powers in the "Nightmare" story from New Mutants #3 in May, 1983. The Demon Bear made its first full appearance in New Mutants #18 in "Death-Hunt" in August, 1984. The Demon Bear was also the central antagonist from the 2020 The New Mutants feature film.
