Deltans are a fictional alien race featured in the Star Trek mythos. They first appeared in the 1979 feature film Star Trek: The Motion Picture and were represented through the character of Lieutenant Ilia.
Description[]
Deltans are a humanoid race, virtually indistishuisible from baseline humans. One notable physical characteristics of Deltans is that they are all bald, including the females. Deltans are telepaths and are also known for their acute sexuality. This, in combination with their psionic senses, have made them into a sexually responsible race who have undertaken a vow of celibacy wherein it concerns potential mates of other cultures, viewing humans in particular as a sexually immature race.
