Biography[]

Deirdre Mayfair was a female member of the Mayfair family of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Antha Mayfair and lived at the family estate at 1239 First Street in the Garden District. Born of a witches' bloodline, she was a "designee" of the estate and the twelfth witch in a lineage that went all the way back to her 17th century Scottish ancestor, Suzanne of the Mayfair, from whom the family took their name.

More than any witch who came before her, Deirdre Mayfair suffered the most for the presence of the spiritual being known as Lasher. She spent the majority of her youth institutionalized.

In early 1959, Deirdre was raped by her uncle, Cortland Mayfair, who left her with child. Deirdre gave birth to Rowan Mayfair on November 7th, 1959. At the auspices of her aunt, Carlotta Mayfair, the child was taken away and raised in San Francisco by a family cousin. Deirdre spent the remainder of her years a helpless invalid, kept numb with Thorazine as ordered by Carlotta.
