J-Turk[]
J-Turk was a human soldier who fought in the Pale Wars. He worked in the same unit as Joshua Nolan. J-Turk was present with Nolan in a bar celebrating the one-year anniversary of Arkfall. He cheered when Nolan raised his glass declaring, "Earth is for humans!".
Jackson[]
Jackson is a song written in 1963 by Billy Edd Wheeler and Jerry Leiber and first recorded by Wheeler. It is best known from two 1967 releases: a pop hit single by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood and a country hit single by Johnny Cash and June Carter. Joshua Nolan and Irisa Nyira performed their own version of the song while driving through the Missouri Badlands. (Defiance: Pilot (Part 1))
Jalina[]
Jalina was an alien member of the Castithan race. She was living in the town of Defiance, Missouri in the year 2047 and was a servant of Datak and Stahma Tarr. Jalina was murdered by Doctor Otto Scheck, who harvested her eyes. Her body was discovered by Datak and Rafe McCawley, who disposed of it.

Jessica Rainer[]
Jessica Rainer is a captain in the Earth Republic. She was assigned to Defiance under the aministration of provisional mayor Niles Pottinger. She went by the nickname, "Berlin". Jessica Rainer was romantically involved with Tommy LaSalle.
John[]
John was a BioMan who worked for former mayor, Niles Pottinger. He was named for musician John Lennon of the popular 1960s rock 'n roll band, The Beatles. John worked with three other BioMen, who were likewise named after members of the band.
Jonah Keller[]
Jormir[]
Jormir was a male Liberata and a resident of Defiance. In 2048, he went to Doc Yewll's office for a medical appointment. At this time, Yewll was being controlled by the Omec Kindzi, who forced her to abduct patients in order to feed them to the Omec as part of their Dread Harvest. Jormir was locked in a cage next to Datak Tarr and Samir Pandey. In short order, he was selected by the hungry Omec who killed and consumed him. (Defiance: The Awakening)
Josef Mirch[]
Josef Mirch was the son of Rupert Mirch and the older brother of Hyatt Mirch. Like his father, Josef was employed by Rafe McCawley in the McCawley Mines. Josef actively spoke out against the occupation of the Earth Republic following the election and extremely brief career of Mayor Datak Tarr.
