The Defenders is an American television limited series of the action and superhero fantasy genres. It takes place within the setting of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and features characters originally presented in the Netflix family of MCU programming. The series was presented on Netflix's instant streaming video service, and spanned eight episodes, all of which dropped on August 18th, 2017.
The show features an ensemble cast with the central protagonists portrayed by Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand. The supporting cast, who are also credited in the main line-up include Eka Darville as Malcolm Ducasse, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Scott Glenn as Stick.
