Dean Mencken is a fictional school administrator and a minor character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is associated with the Fantastic Four line of titles and first appeared in Fantastic Four Annual #2 in October, 1964.
Biography[]
Mencken was the Dean of science at State University in New York. He sent an administrator to Latveria to personally offer a scholarship to Victor von Doom. When Victor became a student at Stat U, he conducted an experiment that got out of control, causing his dorm room to explode, and seriously disfiguring his face. While Doom was recuperating in the hospital, Dean Mencken told him that he was expelled. [1]
