Season Two of The Dead Zone aired on the USA Network from January 5th, 2003 to August 17th, 2003, spanning a total of nineteen episodes. The series is based on the 1983 novel The Dead Zone by author Stephen King, and re-imagines and expands upon characters, themes and plot developments from the original story.
Season two features the return of the entire cast from season one, beginning with Anthony Michael Hall reprising the role of psychic Johnny Smith. Nicole de Boer plays his ex-girlfriend, Sarah Bracknell Bannerman, with Chris Bruno as Sheriff Walter Bannerman and John L. Adams as Johnny's BFF, Bruce Lewis.
Adding to the supporting cast this time around is Spencer Achtymichuk in the role of Sarah's son, J.J. Bannerman, who appears in six episodes from this season. David Ogden Stiers also returns as Reverend Gene Purdy for a total of thirteen episodes from this season. Kristen Dalton appears in eight episodes this season, concluding her work on the series in the role of recurring love interest, Dana Bright.
