Dawn Emerson is a fictional murder victim and one of the main characters from the 2016 independent film Terrifier. She was played by actress Catherine Corcoran.
Biography[]
Dawn Emerson was out one evening at a Halloween party with her friend Tara Heyes. Both women were quite intoxicated as they left the party, but Dawn was considerably more drunk than her friend. Tara convinced Dawn not to drive home, and instead, they stopped at a pizza place for some food.
While there, a creepy looking clown in white and black make-up known as Art came in and sat a booth. Tara was disturbed by the strange man, but Dawn was amused. She sat next to the clown, and tugged at his little hat, then took a selfie with him. She had no idea that the man she was teasing was actually a demented serial murderer.
Dawn and Tara left the pizza place and went out to the car, only to discover that it had a slashed tire. Tara went off to find a place to urinate leaving Dawn in the car. Art the clown broke into the car and abducted Dawn. He later managed to capture Tara.
When Tara awakened, she found herself bound to a chair inside of a large and dark room. Art pulled away a curtain revealing Dawn, who was naked and suspended upside down with her legs spread apart. He then took a hacksaw and proceeded to slowly saw her in half from groin to head. After Dawn was dead, Art used her cell phone to take a selfie with her corpse.

- The character of Dawn Emerson was created by writer and director Damien Leone.
- Dawn Emerson is the fourth character to be killed in Terrifier (4th chronologically). She is the third victim of Art the Clown, and his first female victim. She is the only character to be cut in half.
- Dawn's Halloween costume is similar to that of the Scarecrow woman, who appeared in The 9th Circle film short in 2008. This film short introduces the character of Art the Clown in a non-canonical appearance.
