David Michael Hasselhoff is an American television and film actor. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 17th, 1952. His credited career in TV acting began in 1973, though he was primarily active during the 1980s and 1990s. Affectionally known to fans as "The Hoff", David Hasselhoff is best known for two iconic roles. From 1982 to 1986, he played Michael Knight on the NBC action/sci-fi series Knight Rider. From 1989 to 2000, he took the lead stud role of Los Angeles lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the syndicated action/drama Baywatch as well as its spin-off series Baywatch Nights. In between these shows, Hasselhoff, journeyed into the realm of comic book fandom with his respectfully faithful rendition of Nick Fury in the 1989 TV movie, Nick Fury: Agent of Shield. In the speculative fiction genre, David Hasselhoff has also appeared in episodes of NightMan and 3rd Rock from the Sun.
