"Advent" is the title to the first story featured in issue #42 of the Dark Horse Presents ongoing anthology series published by Dark Horse Comics. The story was written by Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett with artwork & inks by Guinan. It was lettered by Willie Schubert. The story features Xenomorph aliens. The second feature is "Kings in Disguise", which is written by James Vance with penciling and inkwork by Dan Burr. The third and final tale is "The Argosy (Part III)", which is written and illustrated by Bruce Zick with lettering by Pat Brosseau. All stories were edited by Randy Stradley. This issue shipped with a July, 1990 cover date and carries a cover price of $1.95 per copy (US).
"Advent"[]
One-time playboy, Wellington Frick, accompanied by his personal android, a cyborg bodyguard and a freelance reporter, scour ruins on a distant planet in search of a lost expedition team. The hatched eggs and mangled remains of that they find forewarn them as to what may be waiting around the next corner...

- The Aliens franchise was created by director Ridley Scott and screenplay writer Dan O'Bannon. It was first brought to life in the 1979 sci-fi/horror movie Alien, which spawned multiple sequels, prequels, and crossover films. Other notable directors in the franchise include James Cameron, David Fincher, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and Paul W.S. Anderson.
- "Advent" is reprinted in the Dark Horse Presents: Aliens trade paperback collection, published in April, 1992. The volume includes an original cover art design by Simon Bisley.
- "Kings in Disguise" is reprinted in the Kings in Disguise hardcover collection, which was edited by Dave Schreiner and co-published by Kitchen Sink Press in August, 1990. It is also reprinted in the Best of Dark Horse Presents, Volume 3 trade paperback collection in July, 1993.
