Daniel Thomas Rand-K'ai, better known by his code name Iron Fist, is a fictional comic book martial artist and superhero featured in titles published by Marvel Comics. He is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe and first appeared in Marvel Premiere #15 in May, 1974, which also revealed the origin of the character. After an eleven-issue run on Marvel Premiere, Danny Rand headlined his own Iron Fist comic book series from 1975-1977. The character then shared cover spotlight with fellow "Hero for Hire" Luke Cage in Power Man and Iron Fist.
