Biography[]
Dan Espinosa was a Latino police detective for the Los Angeles Police Department. He was married to fellow detective Chloe Decker, with whom he had a daughter, Trixie Espinosa. The marriage eventually fell apart and Dan and Chloe were separated. However, as a cop and as a father, he still felt very protective of both of them, and continue to collaborate with Chloe on various cases. Tensions increased somewhat when Chloe began collaborating with a civilian consultant, Lucifer Morningstar. Yes... THAT Lucifer Morningstar. Despite the fact that Lucifer was openly attempting to seduce Chloe, and always referred to Dan as a "douche", the detective tried to maintain a calm demeanor and gave Chloe her space.
