Dan Challis is a fictional physician and the main character from the 1982 supernatural sci-fi thriller Halloween III: Season of the Witch. He was played by actor Tom Atkins.
Biography[]
Dan Challis was a divorced physician, a womanizer, an alcoholic, and a chain smoker. Pretty much he sucked all around. But Dan found himself drawn into a web of intrigue when one of his patients was brutally murdered in his hospital by a robot that self-destructed after Dan tried to pursue him. This led Dan to cross paths with Ellie Grimbridge - the dead man's daughter. The two engaged in a road trip to Santa Mira to unlock the mystery behind her father's murder. Through the course of events, Dan learned about Conal Cochran, CEO of the Silver Shamrock company, who was using pieces from Stonehenge to construct cursed Halloween masks which, when worn, would transform the children who used them into quivering piles of worms. No, I'm not making this up. This actually happened in the movie!
