In Sci-Fi[]
Quantum Leap[]
In the television series Quantum Leap, Sam Beckett finds himself transported to the year 1963 where he leaps into the body of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who assassinated American president John F. Kennedy. Initially, Sam believed the purpose behind his leap was to prevent Kennedy's death, but ultimately he learned that his true mission was to prevent the assassination of Kennedy's wife, Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. [1][2]
True Blood[]
The Hotel Carmilla is a hotel located in Dallas, Texas. Several vampires including Sheriff Stan Baker, used this as their headquarters. Lorena Krasiki, Isabel Beaumont, and Godric were also known to stay here. A portion of the hotel was destroyed when Luke McDonald entered it with a bomb strapped to his chest, which he detonated, killing several vampires.
The X-Files[]
Dallas played a key role in the 1998 film X-Files: Fight the Future. Members of the secret consortium known as the Syndicate learned that the bodies of three firefighters and one small boy had been recovered from a Northern Texas site after they had been exposed to a virus of extraterrestrial origin. In order to eliminate all trace evidence of the bodies and the virus, the Syndicate staged a fake terrorist threat at a Federal building. SAC leader Darius Michaud, presumably under orders of the Syndicate, ordered the building evacuated and stayed behind under the pretense of disarming the bomb. However, he made no such effort to do so and sat calmly as the timer counted down. The bomb exploded, killing Michaud and destroying half the building, including the bodies of the three firefighters and the young boy. [3]
