A Dalek puppet is a fictional classification of person featured in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. They appeared in the first episode of series seven, "Asylum of the Daleks".

A Dalek puppet is any organism, alive or dead, who undergoes cybernetic conversion utilizing Dalek technology. This occurs when an organism is infected with nanotechnology after being exposed to the nanoweb of the Dalek Asylum planet.

Living organisms who undergo this conversion lose complete sense of identity. All sense of compassion, love or morality is wiped from their programming and rewritten with sensations of hate. Their memories are stripped away and the only sense of identity they can obtain is by reading their own data files.

The crew of the Starliner Alaska crash-landed on the planet and were infected with the nanogenes. Even though several died in the crash, they were reanimated and developed Dalek weaponry. Two members of the crew that survived a bit longer was a man named Harvey and a woman named Oswin Oswald. Harvey continued on surviving on the planet for nearly a year before realizing that he was in fact dead. Oswin, proved resistant to the nanotechnology, and so she had to undergo complete cybernetic conversion, in essence, turning her into a Dalek.

A woman named Darla von Karlsen became a Dalek puppet and was sent to the Daleks' home planet, Skaro, to lay a trap for the Eleventh Doctor. She baited the Doctor into coming to meet her, and told him that her daughter, Hannah, was trapped in a Dalek prison camp, but she herself had managed to escape. The Doctor immediately realized that this was a trap, and was captured by the Daleks.

The Doctor, Amy Pond, and Rory Williams, were then forced to go to the Dalek Asylum to shut off the force field so the Daleks could then obliterate the planet, doing away with their own past mistakes. They were each outfitted with special wrist gauntlets to protect them from the nanoweb infection. Upon transporting to the surface, they found Harvey, but did not immediately recognize him as a puppet. They found the remains of the Starliner Alaska, and encountered the reanimated crew and had to fight them off to get away. During the scuffle, Amy lost her wrist protector. She slowly began to go through the psychological aspects of conversion, but the Doctor gave her his own protection device, hoping that his Gallifreyan biology would render him immune to the process. This proved to be correct and he eventually found the Oswin Dalek. Oswin had spent a year on the planet, believing that she was trapped inside of one of the starliner's escape pods. The Doctor had to break the news to her that she was in fact a Dalek. Oswin helped the Doctor get Amy and Rory off-world just as the Parliament of Daleks bombarded the planet, destroying Oswin in the process.
