"Between Heaven and Hell"[]
Daisy Phillips is an 8'5" teenage giant who lives in the town of Brimount. She is possibly descended from a race of cannibals spawned by outcast angels and conducts daily readings to a group of children, telling them the story of the angel Bezaliel.
Meanwhile, Lindsay Taylor comes to Brimount in search of her fifteen-year-old son, Conor Mullane, who went missing five years ago. She speaks with Sheriff Scott, and tells him that she tracked his last known whereabouts to a telephone call that originated at 4828 Sunridge.
Sheriff Scott is familiar with the address and drives her out to the farmouse that Daisy Phillips and some local children live at. She meets the giantess, after which, Sheriff Scott shoots Lindsay in the chest.
As day turns to night, "Father" Bezaliel returns home and conducts a reading with the children.
