Description & History[]
The Daily Planet is a major national newspaper publisher whose corporate office is in the city of Metropolis. It has seen numerous owners over the years including Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne. In Pre-Crisis continuity, the Daily Planet was purchased by Galaxy Communications and represented the print media arm of their corporate holdings. The managing editor of the Daily Planet is Perry White. Notable reporters for the paper include investigative journalists Lois Lane and Clark Kent, sports columnist Steve Lombard and gossip columnist Cat Grant. Its most famous photographer is Jimmy Olsen. The Daily Planet gained global recognition for being the first paper to write a story on the superhero known as Superman.
