"Origins & Omens" is a multi-part serialized set of mini-stories that took place in select comic book issues published by DC Comics in 2009. They were six-pages stories presented as back-up tales in various issues focusing on a specific DC Comics hero or villain, the purpose of which was to "tell you all you need to know about where they've come from... or where they're about to go". There were eighteen issues of this storyline published in total. The stories were presented from the perspective of Scar - a renegade member of the Guardians of the Universe who read these tales from the Book of the Black.
