D'Qar is the name of a fictional planet featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. It first appeared in the 2015 blockbuster film Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
Description[]
D'Qar is a planet that boasts a woodland terrain and is surrounded by a meteor field. D'Qar was used as the headquarters for the Resistance during the uprising against the First Order some thirty years after the Battle of Endor.
History[]
After escaping from the First Order on Takodana, Han Solo and Chewbacca brought an astromech droid named BB-8 and a defecting Stormtrooper named Finn to D'Qar so BB-8 could turn over a portion of a map indicating the location of the last Jedi, Luke Skywalker. Han reunited with his estranged paramour, Leia Organa, and also reconnected wit the protocol droid C-3PO, whom he dismissed. Threepio brought BB-8 to meet R2-D2, who had remained inactive ever since Luke disappeared. Han and Leia's reunion was bittersweet as well, as they reflected upon how their son, Ben, had fallen to the Dark Side of the Force while training under Luke.
When members of the Resistance learned about the First Order's latest super-weapon located on Starkiller Base, they met in their command center to come up with a strategy to counter the First Order's efforts. This plan was enacted shortly after the First Order used their weapon to destroy the Hosnian system.
During the insurgence action aboard the base, Han Solo lost his life at the blade of his own sun. Even back on D'Qar, Leia felt this tremendous sense of loss. When the battle concluded, members of the Resistance held a massive celebration. One of the heroes of the battle, Rey, came to D'Qar, and Leia immediately embraced her, perhaps even sensing Rey's connection to the Force.
Residents[]
The following people are known to have resided on D'Qar during the Starkiller Base affair. This is not to imply that any of these individuals were actually born on D'Qar. All of the members of the Resistance were stationed on D'Qar.
