The Curse of La Llorona is an American feature film of the horror genre with an emphasis on the ghost/evil spirit subgenre. It is a spin-off of The Conjuring film series and is the seventh film in the franchise. It was directed by Michael Chaves with a screenplay written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. It was produced by New Line Cinema and James Wan of Atomic Monster. It was distributed through Warner Bros. and premiered theatrically in the United States on April 19th, 2019. The movie stars Linda Cardellini as social worker Anna Tate-Garcia with Marisol Ramirez as the evil La Llorona, Patricia Velasquez as the irredeemable Patricia Alvarez, Sean Patrick Thomas as Detective Cooper, and Tony Amendola as Father Perez.
