Description[]

The cult of the Dark Lord was a voodoo cult led by Desmond Drew, aka Black Talon and his mother, known only as Mama Limbo. They abducted and sacrificed young women as part of scheme to rejuvenate Mama Limbo youth and vitality based on a process learned from the 16th century blood Countess Elizabeth Bathory.

The cult selected Loralee Tate to be part of a ritual human sacrifice and terrorized her by using voodoo magic to make the image of a demon appear before her while she was driving her car. Loralee swerved to avoid colliding with the perceived threat, and she steered her car into the Mississippi River and was swept away. Fortunately for her, Jericho Drumm, aka Brother Voodoo, spotted Loralee and fished her out of the river. Bringing her back to his home, he listened as Loralee told him about that cult that had been pursuing her.

The Cult of the Dark Lord learned where Loralee was and went to Brother Voodoo's manor and attacked them. The knocked Voodoo out and made off with Loralee, bringing her back to their secret headquarters. [1]

Brother Voodoo later sought out Mama Limbo to get some insight from her clairvoyant visions, not realizing that she was secretly connected to the very threat he sought to stop. She directed him towards the home of Black Talon, and Brother Voodoo had to fight through a wave of cultists, who ultimately got the upper hand over him. They knocked him out and brought him to their ceremonial room where he was bound to a crucifix. Brother Voodoo called upon the Loa of his deceased brother, Daniel Drumm, guiding him to take possession of one of the cultists in order to set him free. [2]

Not wanting to be denied, Limbo tried to sacrifice Loralee herself, however the broken cross that Brother Voodoo had been secured to fell from the ceiling and crushed her to death. This caused everyone to snap out of their trances, including Black Talon. Brother Voodoo trapped them all in the cellar and escaped outside with Loralee where they waited for the police to arrive. [3]

When Brother Voodoo exposed the true purpose of the rituals, the angry cultists killed their leaders and supposedly disbanded the cult.
