The Cult of Zhered-Na is a fictional cult featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. They are associated with the the character of Man-Thing and are part of the mainstream Marvel Universe. They first appeared in Adventure Into Fear #13 in April, 1973.
Description[]
In modern times, the cult was led by Joshua Kale and was based out of the Florida Everglades. They all wore dark robes and believed that the enigmatic guardian of the Nexus of All Realities known as the Man-Thing was humankind's last hope for survival. Joshua instructed his followers based on ritual texts from the Tome of Zhered-Na. Joshua's granddaughter, Jennifer Kale, and her younger brother, Andy Kale, stole the book out of sport and read from it, inadvertently releasing the demon known as Thog the Nether-Spawn. [1] A cult member known as Brainard accused Joshua of stealing the book. [2]
