The Cryptograph analyzer is a fictional device featured on the ABC television series The Bionic Woman. It appeared in the twelfth episode of season one, "The Jailing of Jaime".
The cryptograph analyzer is a device developed by Arthur Hatch for the benefit of NATO's defense apparatus. It was designed to break into and decrypt any code in the world. The government invested forty million dollars and three years of Hatch's life to develop this device, but ultimately it didn't work. When it came time to present the item to the United States Air Force, Hatch decided to stage a theft.
With an assistant named John Naud, he arranged with the Office of Scientific Intelligence to have Jaime Sommers act as courier of the device from Hatch's research office to a secret base in the Mojave desert, where she was to deliver it to General Frank Partridge. Hatch had Naud impersonate Partridge and Jaime unwittingly handed the cryptograph analyzer to him. After which, Jaime was framed for the device's theft.
