Crolutes [1] are a fictional alien race featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. They first appeared in the 2015 feature film Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. They are represented in the film by the character of Unkar Plutt.
Unkar Plutt was a Crolute who lived on the planet Jakku in the Western Regions. It is unknown whether Unkar was a colonist or if he had been born there. Given the aquatic nature of his species, it seems unlikely that he originated on the desert planet.
