Cover artists draft, compose and finalize the completed artwork that is used for a comic book cover. Most artists handle the chores of penciling, inking and coloring, though these functions may also be performed by colorists and cover inkers. Some cover artists also design the logo that is used for the boiler plate on comic book titles, but are rarely credited for this.
