A corkscrew is handheld item that consists of a pointed metal helix attached to a handle. Some corkscrews may also have clasps on the side. They are designed for pulling corks out of wine bottles and are utilized by inserting the point into the cork, then twisting the handle, allowing the corkscrew to burrow into the cork until it can firmly grasp itself to the inside of it. The user then tugs upon the corkscrew until the cork pops out.
In Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, masked killer Jason Voorhees sneaked inside a party house where he grabbed a corkscrew. Partier Jimmy went into the kitchen looking for it, but when he could not find it, he shouted out to his friend Ted about its location. Jason emerged and plunged the corkscrew into Jimmy's hand.
In Amityville Karen, quality control inspector Karen used a corkscrew to open a bottle of cursed wine that she had stolen from a local winery. Business partners Alex, Kevin and Troy also used corkscrews to open up numerous bottles. When Karen became possessed by a demonic spirit, she used murdered Troy by plunging a corkscrew into the back of his neck. Later, at the winery launch party, she attacked Alex, who picked up a corkscrew to defend himself. He drove it into Karen's eye, killing her.
