Biography[]

Blackstone, first name unknown, was a member of the Swiss Armed Forces in the late 19th century and held the rank of Colonel. He presided over a small Village near Ingolstadt, not far from the legendary Castle Frankenstein. Around the year 1898, Colonel Blackstone had taken control of Castle Frankenstein, which had remained empty for more than two decades after the last family descendant, Jason Frankenstein, vacated the castle.

Colonel Blackstone had lofty dreams of military conquest, and utilized the castle as his base of operations. At some point, he discovered a giant spider, which had the ability to absorb the soul energy from its victims. Blackstone kept the spider contained at the bottom of a giant well beneath the castle.

Using his position of authority, Blackstone abducted captured criminals and brought them to the castle where he fed them to the spider. The soulless husks of these human victims then became part of a ghoulish army that obeyed Blackstone's commands. One of his officers, an unidentified Leftenant, took note of the numerous missing prisoners and began to investigate on his own, never suspecting that the true culprit was his own superior officer.

It was around this time that the Frankenstein Monster returned to Ingolstadt in search of the last Frankenstein. He ventured towards the castle where he noted several of Blackstone's soulless minions carrying the body of a recently captured horse thief, which they then fed to the giant spider. When Blackstone learned of the Monster's presence, he had his mutant servants attack him, eventually overwhelming him. Blackstone had the Monster chained to a wall. The Frankenstein Monster unknowingly thought that Blackstone was a member of the Frankenstein family.

The Leftenant arrived at the castle and encountered the Monster. Initially, he thought this creature was responsible for all of the missing people from the village, but then learned that it was his own superior, Colonel Blackstone, who was at the root of the problem.

The Leftenant drew his sword and fought with the Colonel. All the while however, the river that ran past the castle flooded the area and the underground passages began to fill with water. The pit containing the giant spider began to fill up, allowing the monstrous creature the ability to crawl its way to freedom. The deluge pummeled the castle walls, loosening the bricks enough so that the Frankenstein Monster could break free of his chains. While the Monster fought the giant spider, Colonel Blackstone drowned in the flood. [1]
