Biography[]
Coder was an elderly man and a member of the United States Army who held the rank of General. Aware of the threat of supernatural creatures such as vampires, General Coder consulted with occult specialist Quincy Harker. He told him that against his better judgment, he had been ordered to supply him with a small platoon to combat the threat of a mad scientist known as Doctor Sun]. The thought of mounting a virtual war in the center of Boston offended his sensibilities. What General Coder was unaware of however, was that these orders were actually dispatched through Doctor Sun's sources himself. Doctor Sun sought to use this opportunity to unleash his scientifically amplified telepathic powers on the troops, thus bringing them under his command.
When the platoon established its position in Boston, Doctor Sun activated his amplification device. Coder was among many soldiers who were affected. In a hypnotic trance, he declared "I-- I am with Sun! And I kill all his enemies!" Frank Drake, who was in the seat next to him in the jeep, pistol-whipped him into unconsciousness, then tossed him out of the vehicle. [1]
