"Flying Lessons" is the third episode of season one of the science fiction television series Cleopatra 2525. It was directed by Rick Jacobson and written by Hilary J. Bader. It first aired in syndication on Monday, February 5th, 2000. In this episode, Cleo, Sarge and Helen are reluctantly drafted into a mission to rescue a young woman from undercity slavers. In order to facilitate her rescue however, they must first enter into a game of chance, putting their own lives on the line if they lose.

  • This episode introduces the aphrodisiac known as "Juice", which is politely described as an inhibition inhibitor.
  • Cleopatra invokes the phrase, "Houston, we have a problem." This is a quote made famous by members of the Apollo 13 space mission.
  • One of the bar mutants is wearing a spikey set of armor made for the Xena: Warrior Princess episode "The Dirty Half Dozen". [1]
  • Cleopatra's rendition of "Happy Birthday, Mister Mutant" is a pastiche of the more infamous rendition of "Happy Birthday, Mister President", which was sung in a sexy, sultry manner by silver screen actress Marilyn Monroe for President John F. Kennedy.
