Claire Davenport was a British actress born in Sale, Cheshire, England on April 24th, 1933. Her earliest known work in television was playing a character named Myrtle in several episodes of the TV series The Rag Trade. Her first role in a science fiction feature was her portrayal of an empress in the "Assassin at Peking" episode of Doctor Who in 1964. Having made a career portraying large women, she was eventually cast to play the part of Yarna D'al' Gargan, the multi-breasted dancer in Jabba the Hutt's palace in the 1983 film Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Though she had gone on to play several more roles, these were her only two appearances in the sci-fi medium. Claire Davenport passed away from renal failure at the age of 68 in England on March 4th, 2002.
