Notes & Trivia[]

  • Chucky: The Series is based on characters and concepts created by Don Mancini. It originated with the Child's Play film series.

  • This is the first episode of Chucky written or co-written by Rachael Paradis. It is her only episode from season one of the series.
  • This episode features flashback sequences of Charles Lee Ray while he was still human. Assuming that this flashback takes place only shortly before the events of Child's Play, then it would be in late autumn or early winter of 1988. This also assumes that the events of Child's Play takes place in the same year in which it was released.
  • The events of this episode take place in Hackensack, New Jersey in early November, 2021.
  • The Hotel Hackensack, where Tiffany and Nica take their male victims is the same hotel that Tiffany and Charles Lee Ray stayed at in the 1980s flashback.

Allusions[]

  • The title of this episode might be a reference to "Little Lies", which is a 1987 pop song by Fleetwood Mac. The song was written by band member Christine McVie. The principal of Perry Middle School, as seen in this episode, is Megan McVey.
  • In this episode, Chucky lands in a pit of used hospital needles after falling from a garbage chute. This is similar to one of Jigsaw's traps seen in Saw II when recovering drug addict Amanda Young falls into a pit of broken needles.
  • Tiffany Valentine expresses a desire for Swedish meatballs. Swedish meatballs are said to be one of Chucky's favorite foods according to Bride of Chucky.
  • "Tommy" is the same name as a Good Guys doll that was featured in Child's Play 2. In that film, Chucky physically took the place of the doll after burying it. In this episode, he possesses the Tommy doll.
  • It is possible that Doctor Mixter might be named for Frederick Mixter, who is a physician from Haddonfield Memorial Hospital in Halloween II in 1981. Coincidentally, the season two premiere of Chucky is also called "Halloween II".

Quotes[]

  • Tiffany Valentine: My mother always told me, "Never let a man cock block you from what makes you really happy", and eating makes me happy!

....

  • Michelle Cross: Every time she speaks, it's like cheap silver on a mass produced dinner plate.

....

  • Chucky: You look like tuna melt. No one's gonna love you lookin' like that.
