Allusions[]

  • The title of this episode is taken from An Affair to Remember, which is a feature film of the romance genre from 1957. It was directed by Leo McCarey and stars Carey Grant and Deborah Kerr. It received four Academy Award nominations and is considered one of the most romantic movies in cinema history.
  • Clips from the 1931 feature film Frankenstein are presented as the movie theater presentation in this episode. Coincidentally, that film's direct sequel, Bride of Frankenstein, is one of Tiffany Valentine's favorite films as seen in Bride of Chucky.
  • Chucky quotes the line, "We're going to party like its 1999." This is a lyric from the song "1999" by Prince, which debuted on the 1982 album of the same name. The closing lyric from the chorus is "Tonight we're going to party like its 1999".
  • Jake Wheeler compares Chucky to Teddy Ruxpin. Teddy Ruxpin is an animatronic teddy bear, which was produced by Worlds of Wonder beginning in 1985. The toy included a cassette tape that was placed inside the doll, which would make articulating mouth movements and gestures in time with the recording.

Quotes[]

  • Chucky: I hate guns, They are like my Achilles Heel... along with axes, fire, and industrial-sized fans.

....

  • Tiffany Valentine: I'm done with you, Chucky! I'm done with your petty shit, and your massive ego, and your tiny fucking dick!

....

  • Chucky: We're going to party like its 1999.
