Chronicle is an American science fiction film with elements of the "civie-hero" thematic trope. It was directed and co-written by Josh Trank with a script that was also written by Max Landis. The movie was produced by Davis Entertainment and Dune Entertainment and distributed through Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation. It premiered in the United States on February 3rd, 2012. The movie involves a group of friends who are exposed to a strange alien substance that suddenly gives them super-powers. With great power comes great responsibility however, and sometimes even great hardship as the youths quickly discover.
Chronicle stars Dane DeHaan as Andrew Detmer, Alex Russell as Matt Garetty, Michael B. Jordan as Steve Montgomery, Michael Kelly as Richard Detmer, Ashley Hinshaw as Casey Letter and Bo Peterson as Karen Detmer.
