Christina Custer is a fictional character featured in comic books published by DC Comics under their Vertigo imprint. She appeared in issues of Preacher beginning with a story called "All in the Family" in Preacher #8 in 1995.
TV series[]
Christina L'Angelle was the daughter of Marie L'Angell and lived at the Angelville plantation in Louisiana. As an adult, she met and fell in love with a man named John Custer, who bore her a son, Jesse Custer. Christina's mother was a witch, who enslaved people by bartering for their souls. Christina wanted to escape from Angelville, but when she tried to leave, Marie's henchmen, Jody and T.C. stopped her on the bus. Jody bashed her face into the side of the window before bringing her back to Angelville.
Marie L'Angell confronted her and knew that she had something of interest on her person. Christina took a photograph of her husband and infant son, crumpled it up and swallowed it. Marie had T.C. and Jody hold her down while she opened her up with a scalpel to retrieve it. Rather than sew her back up, Marie had the men take her to "the machine", where Christina's soul was extracted and consumed by Marie L'Angelle.
