Children of the Corn is an American independent feature film of the supernatural thriller subgenre of horror. It is the third reboot of the Children of the Corn film series and serves as a quasi-prequel to the original 1984 film Children of the Corn. The story is loosely based on the short story of the same name by author Stephen King. The film was written and directed by Kurt Wimmer. It was produced by ANVL Entertainment and Digital Riot Media in association with Angel Oak Films. It was released on video-on-demand in the United Kingdom on September 1st, 2020. It premiered in the United States in Sarasota, Florida on October 23rd, 2020. It opened to limited theatrical release in the U.S. on March 3rd, 2023 and was released on streaming services in North America on that same day.
